In 1957 Mr Des Serda founded Serderon Pty Ltd as a paper distributor, running the business on his own and using his garage for storage space.
He continued to expand the business and was still a major force in the operation until his passing in 1962.

His son, Tibor then continued running the business, and in 1964 he employed Mrs Rae Morris who is still with the company today.
In 1966 Tibor’s son Steven, joined the company. He is currently Managing Director, the third generation of the Serda family to hold this title.

In the late 1960’s Steven saw a great advantage in the emerging plastics industry, and changed the focus in sales to Low Density polythene bags. Shortly after this High Density polythene products started to appear and the company began to specialise in HDPE products of all types.

The company grew at a rapid rate and soon found itself as one of the major players in the manufacturing and distribution of plastic bags throughout Australia.
In 1988 Matt Dihm joined the company and in 2007 was appointed the General Manager.

In 1997 the company changed it’s name to “Serderon The Plastic Man Pty Limited to better reflect its image. Nowadays most of our customers refer to the company as“The Plastic Man”
